Russia and the US have agreed on a meeting between Putin and Trump in the coming days
Russia and the United States have reached an agreement to hold a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the coming days. This was announced by the assistant to the head of the Kremlin Yuriy Ushakov.
“An agreement has been reached to hold a meeting between Putin and Trump in the coming days, the parties have started working on it”, he noted.
According to Ushakov, the parties also agreed on the place of negotiations, which will be announced later. A Putin aide added that during previous contacts, US special representative Steve Witkoff had raised the issue of a possible tripartite format with the participation of Putin, Trump and Zelensky, but Moscow left it without comment.
“Next week has been marked as a benchmark for the meeting between Putin and Trump, but how many days the preparation will take is hard to say yet”, – added Ushakov.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said that the initiative to meet with Trump came from Russia.
“The President is open to meetings with both President Putin and President Zelensky. President Trump wants this brutal war to end.”, – emphasized Caroline Levitt.
At the same time, the participation of European leaders in the planned meeting is not expected.
