Russia claims to have shot down 122 Ukrainian drones

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that on the night of July 17, 122 Ukrainian drones were allegedly shot down.

According to the report, 43 UAVs were destroyed over Bryansk region, 38 over Kursk, 10 over Orlov, 6 over Smolensk, 6 over Voronezh, 5 over Belgorod, 3 over Moscow region, 3 over Kaluga, 3 over temporarily occupied Crimea, 2 over Leningrad, 2 over Lipetsk and 1 over Tula region.

The mayor of Moscow, Serhii Sobyanin, said that air defense systems allegedly repelled an attack by three drones on the Russian capital. Residents of Zelenograd in the suburbs of Moscow talked about sounds similar to explosions. At the same time, flight delays were recorded at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport.

In the Smolensk region, the attack fell on the city of Roslavl. As ASTRA draws attention, the joint-stock company “720 repair plant of flight support equipment” is located there, which is part of the Rostec structure.

The governor of the Voronezh region Oleksandr Gusev announced the alleged downing of at least five drones over the region. Local media reported that one of the drones hit a multi-story building in Voronezh — the impact fell on the 16th and 17th floors.

Gusev confirmed the information, noting that the debris fell on a residential building in the left-bank part of the city. As a result of the incident, three children were injured. At least four apartments were damaged. Residents of one of the entrances temporarily left their homes.
