Russia has transferred a new regiment formed in Chechnya to southern Ukraine: Southern Defense Forces
In the southern direction of the front, the appearance of a new unit of Russian troops — a motorized rifle regiment formed in the Chechen Republic — was recorded. About this stated spokesman of the Defense Forces of the South, Vladyslav Voloshyn, on the air of the We — Ukraine TV channel.
We are talking about a motorized rifle regiment, created in the city of Khankala by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It was he who recently announced an increase in the scale of mobilization by 30,000 people. According to this decree, each of the military districts of the Russian Federation had to form additional combat units. In particular, the Southern Military District, which is involved in hostilities against Ukraine in the south, created a completely new regiment, which has already been redeployed to the front.
According to Voloshin, the purpose of the transfer is to replenish the losses in manpower suffered by units of the occupying army as a result of recent battles. The new formation should strengthen the position of Russian forces in the most tense areas, where their groups have lost the ability to take offensive actions.
The spokesman clarified that this unit will be concentrated in the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions – that is where the Russian troops are under serious pressure and do not have sufficient reserves.
According to the latest reports from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops liberated the village of Yalta near the administrative border with the Dnipropetrovsk region. Also, the advance of the Armed Forces to the southwest of the settlement of Komar was recorded.
