Russia plans to resettle over 100,000 of its citizens to occupied territories of Ukraine

The Russian authorities plan to resettle almost 114 thousand of their citizens to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine by 2045. These are the so-called “development plans” for the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, which were prepared by VEB.RF together with the Unified Institute of Spatial Planning. This is reported by Russian media.

It is noted that 15 master plans and 10 more territorial planning projects have been developed. It is expected that their implementation will increase the population by 67.1 thousand people, and additional projects – by another 46.7 thousand.

These plans provide for large-scale construction: over 13 million square meters of housing, more than 140 kindergartens, dozens of schools and about a hundred medical facilities. They also include the creation and modernization of transport infrastructure – over 3,270 km of roads, almost 430 km of railway tracks and 19 stations, as well as the construction of berths and yacht marinas and the reconstruction of four airfields.

In addition, the launch of 25 industrial parks, eight machine-building enterprises, 15 building materials factories and six mining facilities, as well as enterprises for the processing of tailings, is planned. To implement all projects, they plan to attract more than 225 thousand workers.

They also pay significant attention to the tourism sector – by 2044, they plan to attract up to 9.4 million tourists. They see “high potential” for the development of this area in Primorsk and Genichesk. They call the Arabatskaya Strela, the coast of the Zaporizhzhia region, Mariupol, Kyrylivka and Skadovsk “attractive” for visitors.
