The Polish State Security Service neutralized a drone operating over government buildings
Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk reported, that employees of the State Security Service neutralized a drone that was operating over government buildings and the president’s residence.
“The State Security Service recently neutralized a drone flying over the government buildings (Parkova Street) and the Belvedere Palace”, Tusk said.
He specified that two citizens of Belarus are currently detained, and the police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Let us remind you that on the night of September 10, Russian drones violated the airspace of Poland. The military conducted an operation to neutralize them, for the first time knocking down targets over the territory of the country. Then Donald Tusk informed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and emphasized that Poland will not introduce additional restrictions.
According to him, Poland shot down 4 out of 19 drones that violated its airspace. One of the devices damaged the roof of a house and a car in the village of Vyriki-Wola in the Lublin Voivodeship, and the wreckage of others was found in several settlements. A NATO meeting to discuss the response to the incident should be held on the same day.
The Kremlin refrained from commenting, but the Russian Ministry of Defense said that during the attack on Ukraine on the night of September 10, drones with a flight range of 700 kilometers were allegedly used, which allegedly crossed the border with Poland. They also expressed their readiness to hold consultations with the Ministry of Defense of Poland regarding this case.
