Russia sent almost a hundred strike drones to Ukrnafta production facilities

Russia has been carrying out targeted attacks on Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure for the second day in a row. Over the past two days, almost 100 strike drones have been launched at the production facilities of Ukrnafta, part of the Naftogaz group. This was reported by the Naftogaz press service.

As a result of the shelling, critical damage was recorded, and the operation of the damaged equipment was completely stopped. Rescuers and company specialists are working on the ground to eliminate the consequences of the attacks. After the emergency work is completed, restoration measures will begin.

Naftogaz emphasized that it has concentrated all necessary resources for the speedy restoration of damaged facilities and the maintenance of stable operation of the industry. It was previously reported that during the night-time combined attack on December 23, Russia had already struck Ukrnafta’s production facilities.

Attacks on the Naftogaz Group’s infrastructure are systemic. In particular, on December 9, Russian drones struck gas infrastructure facilities, trying to hit critical equipment on which uninterrupted gas supply depends. On December 2, civilian facilities that provide gas production and storage came under attack, and on November 8, Russian troops attacked Ukraine’s gas infrastructure.

On October 28, the Russian army struck the gas industry for the seventh time in a month – then production facilities in the Poltava region were damaged. Naftogaz also reported that in just one week, the Russians had massively attacked gas production facilities in the Kharkiv region three times, as well as critical infrastructure in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

The most powerful massive attack on the company’s gas production assets since the start of the full-scale war was carried out by Russia on the night of October 3, destroying about 60% of Ukraine’s gas production.
