Russian army attacks hospital in Sumy twice with ‘shaheds’: six people killed

On the morning of September 28, explosions rang out in the city of Sumy as a result of airstrikes by Russian Shahed drones. According to him, the first blow was inflicted on the medical institution, which led to destruction and casualties among the staff and patients.

“Today, September 28, in the morning, the enemy carried out an airstrike on a health care facility in Sumy, using an unmanned aerial vehicle of the “Shakhed” type. In advance, there are casualties. All necessary services are working on the spot.”, — wrote Kobzar.

A few minutes later, he reported another strike, this time aimed at the residential sector of the city. According to preliminary data of “Suspilny”, two people died as a result of the attack.

In accordance with information Ministry of Internal Affairs, the total number of dead has increased to six people.

“As a result of the first shelling, 1 person died, several floors of the hospital were destroyed. The evacuation of patients and staff began. To help people, rescuers and policemen arrived at the site of the shelling. At the same time, during the evacuation of the patients, the enemy struck again. As of now, it is known about 6 dead, including a policeman. Another policeman was injured.”, – says the message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The border region of Sumy is regularly subjected to Russian shelling using missiles, drones and air bombs. On September 14, as a result of an attack on an energy facility in the Sumy region, one person was killed and seven others were injured. Equipment and shelters were damaged, resulting in the blackout of several substations.

A day earlier, on September 13, the Russian military carried out an airstrike on the Yampil community of Shostkinsky district, using guided air bombs. As a result of the attack on civilian infrastructure, there were also casualties.

The situation in the region remains tense, and local authorities are urging citizens to follow safety measures and follow the instructions of emergency services.
