Russian Federation reacts to Zelensky’s T-shirt, which he wore during his evening address

The daily address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on October 23 caused a violent reaction not only because of the content, but also because of the choice of clothes in which he recorded the video. Russian officials and propagandists promptly reacted to this gesture of the Ukrainian leader.

The spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, is sarcastic in her Telegram channel commented Zelensky’s T-shirt. She expressed misunderstanding about the content of the message on the clothes, alluding to historical realities.

Small, like what? USSR? Russian Empire? Oh, I got it! Like Kyivan Rus. For this we need Kyiv. You said it yourself, damn it“, Zakharova wrote.

Former member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev, who moved to Russia, also commented on this moment in his Telegram channel. He compared the inscription on Zelenskyi’s T-shirt with the famous slogan of former US President Donald Trump “Make America great again”. According to Tsarev, this is a reference to Ukraine’s territorial losses due to events at the front.

Propaganda Telegram channel “Pool No. 3”, which is run by Russian journalist Dmytro Smirnov, was not left out either. Smirnov is convinced that Russia has never been “small”, and this, in his opinion, makes Zelensky an object of ridicule.

A well-known Russian military blogger under the pseudonym “Thirteen” described Zelensky’s clothes as “anti-Russian merch”. He also expressed surprise that the president can behave like that in front of the camera.

I can’t imagine any president who would dance on camera in the same pretense. The reactions under the post are relevant, you can see them yourself“, the blogger added.
