Russian troops are trying to penetrate the settlements around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, but they are not able to capture the city. About it on the air of the national telethon reported Viktor Tregubov, spokesman for the operational-strategic grouping of troops “Khortytsia” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, the direction of Pokrovsk remains the hottest point of the front during the last four weeks in terms of the number of combat clashes.
“If we are talking about really large displacements, about something that can directly threaten the city in the near future, we cannot say now. Although they [the Russians] are trying one way or another to go around, go out and cling to individual houses in individual settlements.”Tregubov explained.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that during the last day, Ukrainian forces repelled 41 enemy attacks in the Pokrov direction. The fighting took place, in particular, in the districts of Myrolyubivka, Promin, Sukhoi Yar, Pischany, Kotlyny, Ukrainka, Yasenovo, Novoelizavetivka, Tarasivka, Elizavetivka, Lysivka, Zeleny, Novy Trud, and Pokrovsk.
