Russian troops struck the city of Hlukhiv: a mother and a child were among the dead

On November 18, at around 11:20 p.m., Russian troops shelled the town of Glukhiv in the Sumy region. As a result of the drone attack, part of the apartment building was destroyed.
As of the morning of November 19, it became known that the bodies of two dead people – a mother and her child – were pulled out from under the rubble. The number of victims and injured is currently being clarified. This is reported by a local newspaper “Gluhiv.Info” in their social networks. The authorities of Glukhov and law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on this event.
At the scene of the tragedy, rescuers and volunteers continue to clear the debris, because there may be people under the debris of the building.
Eyewitnesses report significant destruction in the area of the impact. During the shelling, local residents left their homes because of the threat of further shelling. Those who are left homeless receive temporary shelter at aid points deployed in the city.
The local authorities and the State Emergency Service are making every effort to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Special equipment and search dogs are involved in the work. Medics provide assistance to the wounded who are taken to hospitals.
This tragedy once again emphasizes the danger posed by missile strikes on civilian infrastructure.
The international community continues to condemn such attacks against the civilian population and calls for compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law.
