Scandal in Rivne: oncologists danced on tables

There was a scandal in Rivne due to the actions of oncologists who danced on tables during a private party after a scientific conference. The event took place in the “Sofia” restaurant and hotel complex, where the doctors of the Rivne Regional Anticancer Center celebrated the successful completion of the conference on “Current issues of radiation oncology in Ukraine”. In the video that appeared on the network, guests of the party can be seen dancing to rhythmic Ukrainian music in a spacious hall with a large number of dishes on the tables.

The incident caused a wave of indignation in society, since the holiday took place during the war, when people die every day in Ukraine due to Russian shelling. For example, on August 30 in Kharkiv, as a result of airstrikes in a residential area, seven people died, including a 14-year-old girl who died near a children’s playground. 97 people were injured, including a ten-month-old baby. In connection with these tragic events, August 31 was declared a day of mourning in the city. Such cases happen almost every day.

The head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, condemned the actions of the medics, noting that dancing on tables during the war is unacceptable. He wrote in Telegram that the video from the party caused him and many other people to be outraged. Koval discussed this situation with the head of the Rivne Regional Council Andrii Karaush, who also expressed his dissatisfaction with what he saw and emphasized the need for personnel decisions, which are already being prepared.

Andriy Karaush also expressed his surprise and condemnation, adding that at a time when the country is losing its heroes every day, such actions are inappropriate and unacceptable. He emphasized that appropriate measures will be taken for the participants of the party.
