Serbia expressed readiness to become a venue for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia

Serbia has expressed its readiness to become a venue for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, offering Belgrade for this purpose. Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that his country is ready to provide its platform for dialogue, emphasizing its support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Djuric noted that Serbia considers itself a “friend to all parties to the conflict” and seeks to contribute to the earliest possible end to the war. According to him, Belgrade can act as a neutral platform for negotiations if the parties show interest in a peaceful settlement.

The minister emphasized that Serbia always supports the sovereignty and integrity of states within internationally recognized borders, including Ukraine.

Belgrade’s initiative came after the cancellation of the planned summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which was to be held in Hungary.

At the same time, Serbia’s position remains the subject of attention of the European Union. The European Parliament recently adopted a resolution according to which the country will not be able to join the EU without supporting sanctions against Russia. The document also condemns anti-European propaganda in Serbia and emphasizes the need for free elections.
