On April 18, a shooting occurred in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. According to preliminary data, there are dead and injured as a result of the incident.
Currently, police teams and KORD special forces are conducting a special operation to detain an armed man who broke into the supermarket.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that as of 6:00 p.m., two people had died and 10 were hospitalized as a result of the shooting.
Klychko also specified that among the injured is a child, who was taken to the hospital.
Among the injured is a security guard at the supermarket that was broken into shooter.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko at 18:27 reported:
“In the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, a 58-year-old native of Moscow opened fire, killing four people, after which he barricaded himself in a supermarket and held hostages.
According to preliminary data, he used an automatic weapon. At the same time, a fire broke out in the apartment where the attacker was registered.”
Later he specified that there were five dead (four on the street and one in the supermarket).
