On February 4, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a decision on the ratification of the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain on credit support for the development of defense capabilities. About this reported People’s Deputy Iryna Gerashchenko. 281 deputies voted for draft law No. 0300.
“The Verkhovna Rada supported the ratification of the Framework Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Great Britain on official credit support for the development of defense capabilities. It is about a loan of 2 billion for the sphere of defense and investments in the sphere of security”. – says the message.
The framework agreement provides Ukraine with a loan of 2 billion pounds to finance defense needs. The main purpose of the agreement is to provide financial support for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, in particular for the purchase of modern weapons, military equipment and other defense equipment in accordance with NATO standards.
“Under the terms of the framework agreement, the loan will be used for large-scale projects to develop Ukraine’s defense capabilities, which will reduce the burden on the state budget and allow in the short term to obtain the necessary weapons for the defense of our state, primarily in the field of air defense.” – explained the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
