Solar panels will be installed at 130 Ukrainian primary care facilities

Such a step will help medical institutions to significantly save electricity expenses and direct these funds to other needs.

As part of a joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank, photovoltaic power plants will be purchased and installed in 130 primary care facilities. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

It is noted that complete sets of solar panels, inverters and batteries will be installed, which will ensure the stable operation of health care facilities in the future.

Installation regions It is planned that the equipment will be installed in the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.

Thus, as noted by the Ministry of Health, most of the regions controlled by Ukraine are covered.

Installation of solar power plants is planned to be completed within five months.

The department emphasizes that the presence of photovoltaic power plants will allow hospitals to use solar energy as a power source and store it. This will significantly reduce electricity costs, which will allow you to direct the saved funds to other needs.

Hospitals will be able to sell excess electricity According to the amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the restoration and green transformation of the energy system, medical institutions will be able to use the mechanism of active electricity consumers.

“Usually, hospitals produce electricity for their own needs. However, now, during hours when more electricity is produced than consumed, its surplus can be sold to the network,” the Ministry of Health emphasizes.

According to the algorithm, the power supply will be due to the electricity generated by the photovoltaic panels. The excess energy produced will be stored in storage batteries and used at a time when the generation from the panels will not be enough.
