Some categories of IDPs will receive benefits in payments for loss of property
Certain categories of internally displaced persons will receive priority in compensation for destroyed housing. The Committee on Economic Development of the Verkhovna Rada at its meeting on November 18 recommended draft law No. 11028 for adoption in the second reading.
This document proposes to amend Law No. 2923-IX, which regulates the procedure for compensation to citizens for damaged or destroyed housing as a result of the war. About this reported Temporary special commission on protection of the rights of IDPs and other persons.
The innovations provide for the expansion of the list of categories of IDPs who will have a priority right to compensation within the framework of the “eRecovery” program. The list is planned to include:
- pensioners;
- persons with disabilities of the III group;
- parents with a child under 6 years of age or a child with a disability;
- single parents raising a child up to 14 years old;
- persons with two dependent children;
- adopters, guardians and custodians;
- people with severe chronic diseases defined by the Ministry of Health;
- persons who care for a child with severe birth defects or rare diseases.
The main goal of this draft law is to support the most vulnerable categories of displaced persons who lost their homes due to the war and need priority assistance from the state.
