Summer camps for children 2024: who is entitled to free rest and recovery
Summer is in full swing, school work is over, the weather is perfect for relaxation. It's time to send the kids to summer camp. Unfortunately, not all parents have the opportunity to pay for the ticket, especially in difficult economic conditions. Fortunately, the state provided for the possibility of receiving a free summer camp for children.
According to the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024”, UAH 316,518.5 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation and recreation of children who need special social attention and support. This means that certain categories of children can take advantage of the opportunity for free recreation and rehabilitation.
Local communities finance pre-school summer camps, vacations and wellness programs in local sanatoriums. The possibilities of such programs depend on the budget and needs of the community. This center provides free passes to children of the following categories:
– Children of combatants (including volunteers)

– Natural children of foster parents or adoptive parents
– Children from low-income families
– Children, one of whose parents died, went missing, or died of injury
Previously, such vouchers could also be obtained to the “Young Guard” UDC in Odesa, but during the war, the center does not accept children.
- “eOzdoroven” program
In 2024, the state program “eOzdorovenlynya” continues to operate, which provides free recreation and rehabilitation for children from vulnerable categories. The program operates on the principle of “money follows the child” and is designed to help families with children with disabilities and low-income families with many children. NGO “Development Alliance” organized a camp in two locations on the outskirts of the village. Verkhovyna, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The camp accepts children from 8 to 14 years of age from the following categories: displaced persons, large families, low-income families, victims of war. Camp conditions are similar to camping, and children participate in a variety of activities, such as hiking in the mountains, baking bread in a century-old oven, and sculpting with clay. Participation of children is free, and several children from the same family are welcome.
