Tens of thousands of consumers in the Odessa region were left without electricity and heat as a result of the Russian Federation’s night attack
After the massive night strike by the Russian Federation on the Odessa region, large-scale power outages were recorded in the region: 74.5 thousand consumers were left without electricity. Odesa was the worst affected – there is no electricity supply to approximately 65 thousand households. In addition, about 9 thousand subscribers in Artsyz are still without electricity due to the consequences of previous attacks. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, the city also had problems with heat supply – approximately 85 thousand subscribers are without heat. Repair crews are working in an intensified mode to restore stable operation of the system as soon as possible. Critical facilities in the region are temporarily powered by backup sources — generators are used. Where there are water outages, technical water has been organized, and invulnerability points are operating continuously: you can warm up, get light, and recharge devices.
It is also reported that the territory of the “Odesa-Vostochnaya” railway station was damaged — the electrical centralization post and the station building were damaged. A railway employee was injured and is receiving medical care.
The alert in the Odessa district and three other districts of the region lasted from 20:25 on December 18 to 00:34 on December 19. During the attack, drones were reported moving towards Odessa, and at least eight explosions were heard in the city. As a result, one of the districts was partially left without electricity, water, and heating; an injured woman was hospitalized.
