The Biden administration has not used almost $4 billion to help Ukraine
The administration of US President Joe Biden did not have time to use about 4 billion dollars intended for assistance to Ukraine. About this reported Deputy Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh during a briefing.
“It will be a little less than four billion dollars that will remain in the authority that the next administration will be able to use for Ukraine.”, she noted.
PDA (Presidential Drawdown Authority), or the program of presidential powers, is one of the key mechanisms of defense support for Ukraine. Under this program, weapons are provided directly from US stockpiles, allowing them to be delivered within days of a decision.
We will remind that on January 9, the United States announced another package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million dollars. The package will be the last approved during Joe Biden’s presidency. Thus, about $3.8 billion for the PDA program will remain unused, despite the White House’s promise to spend the entire amount by the end of Biden’s term. These funds will be at the disposal of Donald Trump after his inauguration on January 20.
