The Cabinet has created an Interagency Group to improve the recruitment of foreigners into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukraine is strengthening coordination and cooperation between state structures in the field of recruitment of foreigners and stateless persons for contract service in the Defense Forces. For this purpose, an Interdepartmental Working Group will be created, to which representatives of several ministries and departments will be involved. The creation of the group is provided for by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution “On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 18, 2024. No. 707”, developed by the Ministry of Defense and approved by the government during today’s meeting.
The interdepartmental working group, which will deal with the organization of conscription of conscript citizens during the mobilization period, as well as the development of mechanisms for recruiting foreigners and stateless persons for contract service, will include 40 officials. The head of the group is the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, and his deputy is the Deputy Minister of Defense.
The composition will include representatives of ministries, the General Staff and Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the State Special Service, the Migration Service, the National Police, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, and other state bodies. It is expected that the group’s activities will contribute to more effective performance of tasks in the field of attracting foreigners to military service, as well as improve coordination between state institutions.
