The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 6 billion hryvnias for the construction of protective structures for critical infrastructure and railway facilities

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 6 billion from the State Budget reserve fund for measures aimed at strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. This is stated in Government Order No. 1135.

These funds are intended to strengthen defense and prevent man-made emergencies. In particular, the funding will go towards the construction of protective structures for critical infrastructure facilities in the fuel and energy sector, rail transport (protection of traction substations with a primary voltage of 150 (110) kV), as well as in life support systems – heat supply, water supply and drainage.

In general, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development (for JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”) has been allocated UAH 800.5 million, and regional state administrations (for regional military administrations) – UAH 5.2 billion. The funds will be used to strengthen energy, transport and vital infrastructure – from providing generators and battery stations to building engineering protective structures. This will allow for the prompt restoration of damaged facilities and ensure uninterrupted operation of the power system.

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development is instructed to approve the list of critical infrastructure energy facilities of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, on which the measures specified in paragraph 1 of this order will be implemented, indicating the amount of funding.
