Venislavsky commented on the likelihood of introducing economy booking
Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, expressed his doubts about the possibility of passing the law on economic reservation in the parliament and criticized the idea of establishing fixed terms for the demobilization of the military.
IN interview for Radio NV, Venislavsky said that at the moment he does not see enough support among the deputies for the introduction of economic reservation, as it could lead to inequality between wealthy and less well-off citizens. According to him, the introduction of such a mechanism will create a risk that wealthy people will be able to protect their businesses, while less wealthy citizens will be forced to go to the front.
As for proposals to establish clear terms of service for the military, Venislavsky called such ideas populist. After consulting with the military leadership, he concluded that such changes could pose serious risks to national security.
He also emphasized the threat from Russia, which is constantly increasing the size of its armed forces, adding tens of thousands of troops every month. In such conditions, according to Venislavskyi, demanding the implementation of the draft law on terms of service for the Ukrainian military would be “a step towards the loss of our statehood.”
