The Cabinet of Ministers has determined the members of the Competition Commission for the selection of the head of ARMA
The Government of Ukraine has determined the composition of the Competition Commission for the selection of candidates for the position of the head of ARMA, which will elect the head of the Agency according to the new rules. Transparency International Ukraine reports this .
The commission included: Wolf-Tilman Baumert, head of the economic crime investigation department of the prosecutor’s office of Wuppertal (Germany) and an expert of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation; Serhii But, chairman of the board of JSC “Prozorro.Prodazhi”; Anzhelika Krusyan, academic secretary of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky of the National Academy of Sciences; Valentyna Luk’yanets-Shakhova, chief researcher of the laboratory on problems of state formation and law enforcement of the educational and scientific institute of law and psychology of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
In addition, members of the commission became: Kateryna Ryzhenko, deputy executive director for legal affairs of Transparency International Ukraine, who for eight years monitored the work of ARMA and advocated legislative changes to improve the body’s work; Rita Simoes, prosecutor from Portugal, international expert in the field of financial crimes, corruption, money laundering and asset recovery, senior specialist in asset recovery at the Basel Institute of Governance (ICAR).
In the future, the competition commission must approve and publicize the regulations of its activities, the procedure for conducting the competition, as well as the criteria and methodology for evaluating candidates. In addition, it must determine the terms and conditions of the competition and place the relevant announcement on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
We would like to remind you that on July 30, the law that initiates the reform of ARMA and defines new rules for the selection of the head of the agency entered into force.
