The campaign “16 Days Against Violence” has been launched in Ukraine and the world

On November 25, the international action “16 days against violence” began, the purpose of which is to draw attention to the problem of domestic violence. About this reported press service of the juvenile police of Ukraine.

“Today, November 25, the campaign “16 days against violence” starts. Its goal is to draw society’s attention to the problem of violence in the family and to call for its overcoming. Violence is not a private matter, but a social problem.” – the police emphasize.

As part of the campaign, juvenile prevention workers across the country will hold a number of events in children’s institutions and educational institutions. They are aimed at raising awareness of the types of violence, clarifying the legal mechanisms of protection and forming intolerance to any manifestations of violence among young people.

This year, the Ministry of Justice chose “Cyberviolence” as the theme of the campaign. In the message of the Ministry of Justice, it is noted that cyber-violence, although it occurs in virtual space, causes real damage – reputational, psychological and even physical.

“With the beginning of a full-scale war, the risks of encountering manifestations of such violence have increased significantly. So, in particular, the enemy uses social networks as a full-fledged tool of war”, the message says.

Citing a study by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the Ministry of Justice stated that 85% of women from 45 countries, including Ukraine, experienced or witnessed violence on the Internet. Another 38% of women reported that they had a personal experience of cyberbullying. Among Ukrainian children aged 6–17, one in ten received requests to send intimate photos.
