The Council did not support the dismissal of Koval from the position of the head of the State Property Fund
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was unable to dismiss the head of the State Property Fund, Vitaly Koval, who submitted his resignation. About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
One vote was not enough to pass the decision — only 225 of the required 226 MPs supported the resignation.
Vitaly Koval headed the FSMU from November 2023, after a two-month break, when the post remained vacant due to the transfer of Rustem Umerov to the post of Minister of Defense. Before his political career, Koval was a banker and businessman, worked in the credit department of Ukrgasbank and held managerial positions in several enterprises in the agricultural, transport and construction sectors.
In 2019, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi appointed Koval as the head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, and in 2020 he ran for the position of Rivne mayor from the Servant of the People party, but lost.
It was expected that at today’s meeting, September 4, the parliament will consider the issue of the dismissal of six ministers and the head of the State Property Fund. However, the relevant committees had to coordinate these resignations.
Earlier it became known that Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Rostislav Shurma submitted their resignations. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, also announced the resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.
