The “Easter truce” is over: the Russian Federation hit Ukraine with missiles and drones

On the night of April 21, Russian troops suspended the so-called “Easter truce” and carried out a combined attack using missiles and drones on the territory of Ukraine. About this reported Air Force of the ZSU.

At 04:55, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded the movement of high-speed aerial objects from the Black Sea area towards the Mykolaiv region. Residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv were urged to take shelter.

At 04:59 the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkovych reported about the sounds of explosions in the city:

“Explosions were heard in Mykolaiv.”

At the same time, the Air Force informed about the missile threat to the central regions of the country. Later came information about explosions in Kherson and Cherkasy.

On the morning of April 21, there were also explosions in the capital — Russia tried to launch an attack on Kyiv with the help of drones. The first explosions occurred at approximately 04:49. Before that, the Armed Forces warned that enemy drones were approaching Kyiv from the northeast.

Information confirmed Kyiv City Military Administration:

“An aerial alert has been announced in Kyiv due to the threat of enemy attack UAVs. We call on the residents of the city to immediately go to the nearest shelters and stay there until the alert ends.”

We will remind that on April 19, Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the so-called “Easter truce”, which was supposed to last from 18:00 on April 19 to 00:00 on April 21. Then the head of the Kremlin claimed that he allegedly gave the order to stop all hostilities. During the operation of the “ceasefire”, from Saturday evening until Sunday, no air alert was announced in any region of Ukraine.

However, despite the Kremlin’s statement, hostilities at the front did not stop. In addition, Russian troops continue to accumulate forces in the Kharkiv direction. There is a possibility that under the guise of a “ceasefire” the enemy is preparing to resume active assaults in this area.
