11 people, including 4 children, injured in Sumy attack by Russian forces

On the night of October 31, Russian troops launched an attack on Sumy, using ten strike drones. The enemy drones hit civilian infrastructure, as well as single- and multi-story buildings in the Kovpakiv and Zarechny districts of the city. According to preliminary information, 11 people were injured, including four children, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
As a result of the strike on a nine-story residential building, five apartments and seven balconies on the upper floors caught fire. Rescuers evacuated 12 residents of the building.
In the private sector, the fire engulfed two outbuildings, and the blast wave damaged a single-story building with five apartments. The greatest destruction and fire centers occurred at the infrastructure facility. The fire has been extinguished.
“Ukrzaliznytsia” reported that Russian troops struck a passenger depot in Sumy, damaging and destroying several of the company’s utility rooms and rolling stock. Replacement cars were promptly provided to transport passengers on train No. 779/780 Sumy – Kyiv, and the train departed on schedule.
The railway infrastructure in the Lozova area was also damaged, with train No. 228/227 Husarivka – Ivano-Frankivsk following a modified route. All possible steps are being taken to minimize the delay.
