The Ministry of Economy will allocate over 30 million hryvnias to the winners of a new wave of grants for business development

Since the beginning of the veteran component of the "Own Business" grant program, 746 veterans and family members of combatants have already received the status of winners.

The Ministry of Economy has identified 62 more winners of the eleventh wave of applications for grants for veterans. The state will allocate UAH 30 million to start or develop their own business.  About this stated deputy head of the department Tetyana Berezhna.

In particular, it is known that since the beginning of the veteran component of the “Own business” grant program, 746 veterans and family members of combatants have already become winners. In general, they will receive grants worth more than UAH 340 million.

Among the 62 winners of the eleventh wave of grant applications this year – 35 combatants and 27 members of veterans’ families. Eight winners received a grant of up to 250,000 hryvnias, 52 – up to 500,000 hryvnias, two more – up to 1 million hryvnias.

The largest number of grant recipients is from Vinnytsia and Lviv regions – 8 each, Ivano-Frankivsk – 6, Rivne and Kyiv regions – 5 each, as well as from the city of Kyiv – 4. Among the most popular areas in which grant recipients intend to develop their business, – wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, temporary accommodation and food organization, processing industry, agriculture.

The terms of the program provide that combatants or persons with disabilities as a result of war, as well as their second spouse, have the opportunity to receive the following grants:

  • up to 250 thousand UAH, up to 500 thousand UAH and up to 1 million UAH – for a veteran who created one, two and four jobs, respectively;
  • up to UAH 250,000 and up to UAH 500,000 – for the second spouse of a veteran in case of creation of one and two jobs, respectively.

In the case of receiving a grant of more than UAH 500,000, the veteran must register as a sole trader for at least 3 years. In addition, this grant is provided in the case of co-financing with the recipient in the ratio of 70/30, that is, the recipient of the grant must invest 30% of his own funds in his business, 70% of the funds will be provided by the state in the form of a grant.

Grant applications are submitted through the Diya portal along with a business plan.

Government project “eRobota”

The YeRobota project developed by the government is one of the components of the “Made in Ukraine” policy, which provides for grant programs aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity and creating jobs. Among other things, this is a program of micro-grants for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, greenhouse farming.

Providing grants to participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of war and their family members to create or develop their own business thanks to the programs is a component of the flagship project of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine “Work without barriers”. It is implemented in accordance with the National Strategy for the Creation of a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine and within the framework of the “Made in Ukraine” economic policy.
