The ex-deputy head of the Office of the President was exposed for illegal enrichment and bribery
NABU and SAP have exposed the former deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine for legalizing illegally obtained funds and receiving a particularly large bribe. This person is already involved in another criminal proceeding for illegal enrichment in the amount of 15.7 million hryvnias, informs NABU press office.
The investigation established that in the period 2019–2021, the suspect illegally received cash, which he decided to “launder” by investing in the construction of private houses with a total area of more than 300 square meters. m in the recreation area of Odesa region.
According to the case file, in order to cover up these actions, the official turned to the beneficiary of the company that owned a plot of land near the sea, and transferred almost 6.5 million hryvnias for construction. The built objects, which the official actually used, were initially registered to this company, and after the notification of suspicion in May 2024, they were transferred to a trusted person.
The detectives also found out that in 2022, the suspect was approached by the owner of a construction company with an offer to give a bribe in the form of construction works and services in the amount of 100 thousand US dollars for the construction of one of the specified houses. In exchange for this, he asked to help the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine cancel the results of the tender in which the competitor won, and to ensure that his company won the second tender.
The official agreed to the terms, used his official position and fulfilled the agreements. As a result, AMCU made the “necessary” decision.
The former deputy head of the Office of the President was notified of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: ch. 1 Art. 368-5, ch. 1 Art. 209, ch. 2 Art. 209, ch. 4 Art. 368. The owner of the construction company is incriminated by ch. 1 Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
