The government announces large-scale measures to provide water: what awaits the regions

The Government of Ukraine has launched a new comprehensive water supply program covering nine regions. One of the key projects is the construction of the “Ingulets – South Reservoir” water pipeline, which has already begun to function. About this reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
This initiative was announced after the terrorist attack at the Kakhovskaya HPP. According to Shmygal, the government promptly started the construction of the Ingulets – Southern Reservoir water pipeline, and currently four of its lines already provide thousands of residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region with drinking water.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of providing water to residents of other regions. For this purpose, the government approved the Integrated Water Supply Program, which will be implemented in the following areas:
- Dnipropetrovsk,
- Kirovohradska,
- Donetsk,
- Zaporizhzhia,
- Luhansk,
- Mykolayivska,
- Odesa,
- Kharkiv,
- Khersonsk.
The program provides for the construction of new water supply systems, reconstruction of hydraulic facilities, cleaning of riverbeds and drilling of artesian wells. According to Shmyhal, within a year the Mykolayiv region will be fully supplied with water, and by the end of 2025 another 2 million Ukrainians in five regions will have stable access to water supply.
It is important to note that in the conditions of constant Russian attacks and terrorist attacks, problems with water supply have become particularly acute in Ukraine. Due to power outages and destroyed infrastructure, many Ukrainians are forced to look for alternative sources of water.
