The government has appointed Tetyana Berezhna as acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications.

The government appointed Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna as the temporary acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

“During the transformation, it is important for the ministry to maintain manageability, financial capacity and interaction with the cultural community. That is why the duties of the temporary head have been entrusted to an experienced manager with a strong background in state policy, international projects and working with partners.” – said Svyridenko.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the priority for the new head of state will be to ensure proper financing of the cultural sphere during the war.

“Conducting a needs audit, intensifying the dialogue with donors, finding additional resources are the areas in which Tatyana has already shown results at the Ministry of Economy. Berezhna has extensive experience in reforms, cultural diplomacy and international cooperation, in particular as a commissioner of Ukraine at EXPO-2025 in Japan.”, – noted Svyridenko.

She also reported that in the future the government plans to separate information policy and strategic communications into a separate direction “with a clear mandate and resources.”

“This will allow focused work on the country’s information stability. Cultural policy needs a new impetus.” – she added.

We will remind you that Tetyana Berezhna will hold the position of Deputy Minister of Economy from June 17, 2022. From November 2021, the Ministry of Economy will be headed by Yulia Svyridenko.
