The government has determined the procedure for assigning monetary payments to military personnel awarded the “Cross of Military Merit”
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has determined the procedure for assigning a monthly cash payment to active military personnel and veterans who have been awarded the Presidential Order of Military Merit, the “Cross of Combat Merit”. The Ministry of Defense reports this. The decision is formalized by government resolution No. 1568 of December 3, 2025.
According to the document, the monthly payment will be 1.5 times the minimum wage established on January 1 of the relevant year. As of today, it is 12,000 hryvnias per month. The resolution also describes the procedure for assigning this assistance and the mechanism for its payment.
The Presidential Award of Ukraine “Cross of Military Merit” was introduced by a decree dated May 5, 2022. It is awarded to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other formations for exceptional personal courage, bravery, and heroic actions during the performance of combat missions, as well as for significant results in commanding troops. “Cross of Military Merit” is the highest military award among the state awards of Ukraine.
Separately, the government recalled that back in August, the Cabinet of Ministers expanded the experimental project “Contract 18–24”. It began to cover positions related to the operation of unmanned systems, and a separate form of contract for citizens under 25 years of age also appeared. In addition, the list of military personnel who can apply for a one-time cash benefit was expanded.
