The government has extended the fuel cashback program until the end of May
The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the fuel cashback program until May 31, 2026. This decision was made due to the continued high fuel prices and consistently high demand among the population. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
At the same time, the maximum amount of compensation will change from May 1. It will be up to UAH 500 per month for one user. The government explains that this level corresponds to the actual average charges and allows for a wider coverage of program participants.
Since the program was launched on March 20, more than 2 million Ukrainians have received cashback on fuel. According to the government, 91% of users are owners of budget segment cars with a small engine capacity, for whom fuel costs are a significant part of the budget.
The program is compensatory in nature and partially covers fuel costs depending on its type: 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. According to government estimates, the savings range from 2 to 13 UAH per liter.
219 gas station operators across the country have joined the program. This ensures its actual coverage in most of Ukraine. The full list is available on the National Cashback portal.
The Ministry of Economy notes that the program already covers more than 4.8 million active users and is gradually becoming one of the tools to support households through partial compensation of daily expenses.
The funds received can be used to pay for utilities, purchase Ukrainian-made goods, medicines, books, or for charity, in particular to support the Defense Forces. Cashback is accrued only for non-cash payments.
