The Government of Ukraine will begin forming a commission to select a new head of the customs service
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, instructed the Minister of Finance, Serhii Marchenko, to prepare for consideration at the next government meeting a decision on the creation of a competitive commission for the selection of a new head of the customs service.
“Held a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko. I instructed him to present the decision on the formation of a competitive commission for the selection of the head of customs for consideration at the next government meeting.” Yuliya Svyridenko said.
Svyridenko emphasized that the selection process should be open and professional.
“Customs must become a modern service that meets the standards of the European Union and works 100% honestly to fill the budget”, she added.
We will remind you that in September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law on the reform of the customs service, which provided for its restart by analogy with the Customs Service, a transparent competition for the position of the head of the State Customs Service, guarantees of political independence of the head, as well as re-certification of all employees within 18 months after his appointment. However, the competition for the position of head of the State Medical Center has not yet been announced.
