The government plans to reorganize every fifth professional technical school in Ukraine

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced plans to reorganize more than 100 vocational and technical education institutions, where the number of students does not exceed 150 people. According to the deputy Minister of Education Dmytro Zavhorodnyi, such institutions will be joined to larger ones, which will allow more efficient use of resources and increase the quality of education.

Investments in modernization

An important aspect of the reform is the modernization of education and the renewal of the material and technical base. The government plans to allocate more than UAH 550 million to upgrade equipment in vocational training institutions, in particular in the fields of agriculture, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering.

New professions

Reorganization also provides for the emergence of new professions that meet the needs of the modern labor market. For example, the training of masters in maintenance of renewable energy systems has already started.

Prospects

According to Zavhorodnyi, the reorganization of VET is a necessary step to ensure the sustainable development of the system of professional and technical education in Ukraine and the training of qualified specialists for various sectors of the economy.
