Ukrainians increased their military tax payments by almost a third: UAH 28.6 billion was received by the State Budget

For the first two months of 2026 before the State The budget received UAH 28.6 billion in military tax, which is 29.2% more than in the same period last year. The largest amounts were paid by residents and businesses of Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions.

According to data of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv received UAH 9.3 billion, Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 3.1 billion, Lviv region – UAH 2.2 billion, and Kharkiv region – UAH 1.9 billion. The funds are used to finance the country’s defense and security.

The tax is paid by individuals, entrepreneurs and employers who withhold it from employees’ salaries. The tax rate for most citizens is 5%. Individual entrepreneurs of groups 1, 2 and 4 pay a fixed amount – 10% of the minimum wage (864.70 UAH per month), entrepreneurs of group 3 – 1% of income, and representatives of the general taxation system – 5% of net profit.

Current payment details can be found on the State Tax Service portal in the “Invoices for payment of payments” section or in the taxpayer’s personal account.

In January 2026, UAH 13.8 billion of military levy was received, while in January 2025 this amount was UAH 10.6 billion, which demonstrates an increase of 30%.
