The GUR estimated the costs of the Russian Federation for a massive strike on Ukraine on February 3
The amount of money spent by Russia on a massive strike on Ukraine on the night of February 3 is comparable to the annual budget of the city of Kaluga. During the attack on the energy infrastructure, 71 missiles of the Kh-101, Kh-22, Iskander-M and Zircon types were used, as well as about 450 Gerber, Geran and Harpy attack drones.
According to calculations of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the total cost of this attack was $324.8 million. This is $190 million more than Russia spent during the massive shelling on January 20.
The intelligence community noted that for this amount of money, the Russian city of Kaluga, with a population of over 320,000, or the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, with a population of about 144,000, could sustain itself for a year. In addition, $324.8 million is an amount comparable to the six-month budget of the Kostroma region.
It is also reported that Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed 450 air targets out of 562 launched by Russia. Thus, almost 80% of the resources spent by the aggressor did not reach the goal.
The day before, this blow became the most powerful in the energy sector of Ukraine since the beginning of 2026. In Vinnytsia region, 50 settlements were left without electricity, and in Odessa region, about 50 thousand consumers lost power.
