The issuing of passports to men abroad will resume from June 30: the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the new order
According to the government’s decision, starting June 30, Ukrainian men of conscription age will be able to get new foreign passports at Ukrainian embassies or consulates in other countries, if they have a military registration document with them.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the conditions for the implementation of the experimental project on the provision of administrative services to Ukrainians abroad. The document regulates the procedure for issuing foreign passports and other documents to citizens by representative offices of Ukrainian state authorities abroad.
In particular, the resolution states that men aged 18 to 60 will not be able to obtain a new passport of a citizen of Ukraine to travel abroad without a valid military ID.
It should be noted that such rules are temporary. They will operate for no longer than 6 months, or until the adoption of the law on administrative services for citizens of Ukraine abroad.
We note that with the start of the full-fledged work of the conscript’s electronic cabinet, paper military tickets will not be accepted. Until the function of issuing military registration documents in electronic form (eVOD) is fully operational in the electronic cabinet, you can submit a paper document to the diplomatic office.
A military registration document (VOD) is not required yet those who do not have a valid foreign passport and plan to return to Ukraine. In such cases, the consulate issues a so-called “white passport” to the applicant. Also, VOD is not yet required if a man draws up documents not for himself, but for his children.
