Children of war

The medical examination procedure for admission to kindergartens, schools and universities has been simplified

Previously, before entering kindergarten or school, parents had to pass a medical examination with their children. It was necessary to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist, ENT and other specialized specialists several weeks in advance, sit in queues and spend hours, and sometimes dozens of hours. Now the certificate is drawn up by the family doctor. It is enough to pass tests and undergo a basic medical examination at your family doctor. For a child’s admission to any educational institution, a unified certificate No. 086/o “Medical certificate (excerpt from the medical card of an outpatient) is issued,” the Ministry of Health reported.

Only children who are registered due to their health should be examined by additional specialists. The only specialist, apart from the family doctor, to whom everyone should turn is the dentist.

“The examination of a child by a family doctor takes into account all the basic requirements for enrolling him in kindergarten and school. The examination includes taking an anamnesis, physical examination, checking for signs of acute illness or chronic conditions, measuring height and body weight, examining vision, hearing, and posture. Only in in case of detection of developmental disorders or diseases, the family doctor refers the child to a specialist doctor. The child must be examined by a dentist before kindergarten and school. – the Ministry of Health notes.

It should be added that medical examinations for enrolling school graduates in institutions of professional (vocational and technical), professional pre-higher, higher education are carried out in the event that it is required by the educational institution or the conditions of admission to such institutions are established.

We would like to remind you that the 2024-2025 academic year will start earlier in universities and institutions of vocational education and training. Children will go to school, as usual, in September. It is possible to shift the study schedule and partially return to distance and mixed learning.

“Regarding schools, we will not start the school year earlier. We plan to work with class schedules, shifting the start of classes, where possible. Where there is no shift training, the start of classes at school will be moved to 10 o’clock in the morning. We are currently working on these recommendations. “, – said the head of the Ministry of Education Oxen Lisovyi.
