The Minister of Defense of Germany announced the volume of weapons production in Russia for three months
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Russia’s production of weapons and ammunition in three months is equal to the annual production of the entire European Union. In his opinion, this poses a serious and long-term threat to Europe. About this informs German publication Spiegel.
According to Pistorius, the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is no longer a local conflict. Vladimir Putin has completely rebuilt the country’s economy to a military system, which allows the production of weapons on a significant scale.
He warned that Europe should take into account not only the military threat, but also the actions of Russia in the framework of hybrid warfare, in particular the use of disinformation and the spread of fake news.
“At the same time, a hybrid war on disinformation and fake news is now in full swing. Our security is a fragile asset.”, — warned the German Minister of Defense.
Pistorius emphasized that the security of Germany and Europe is a fragile asset, and to strengthen it, significant investments in defense capabilities are needed. He also noted that the President of Russia already considers himself the winner of the war against Ukraine, and this requires European countries to consolidate their efforts.
Against the background of these statements, the Minister of Defense of Germany announced the transfer of six Panzerhaubitze 2000 combat vehicles to Ukraine, which is part of the support in the fight against the aggressor.
Pistorius emphasized that the threat from Russia does not disappear and continues to escalate, so the key task remains to increase the level of defense capability of the entire European Union.
