The Ministry of Defense involves the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection in quality checks of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues strengthen quality control of food products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From now on, products that are supplied under state contracts for defenders will also be tested in the laboratories of the State Production and Consumer Service. The corresponding memorandum on cooperation was signed between the procurement agency of the Ministry of Defense “State rear operator” and the State Production and Consumer Service.
The executive director of the DOT Andriy Sozansky emphasized that such a step is extremely important in view of the high expert capacity of the State Production and Consumer Service in conducting laboratory research of food products.
“This year, the DOT has already strengthened its work in the direction of improving the quality of food products. Special attention has been paid to groups of products that are most vulnerable to possible manipulation, in particular dairy products. The next stage will be mandatory laboratory tests of sausage products.” Andriy Sozansky noted.
In his turn, the head of the State Production and Consumer Service, Serhiy Tkachuk, said that the department’s extensive laboratory network operates in every region of Ukraine.
“It is these laboratories that conduct research on food products for compliance with safety indicators. Cooperation with the DOT will allow to strengthen the timely detection of risks and ensure the appropriate level of protection of the health of defenders.” Serhiy Tkachuk emphasized.
In addition, at a meeting in the presence of the heads of the Central Department for the Development of Material Support and the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine of the MOU, the parties agreed on further steps of cooperation, which include the exchange of information on research methods in accordance with modern requirements, as well as the readiness of laboratories to conduct the necessary research.
