The Ministry of Defense received equipment for monitoring the quality of demining from the DRC

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has handed over to the units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine another logistical aid for equipping four demining quality control groups. Quadcopters and other equipment will be used by specialists of the defense department to check the quality of work in territories cleared of mines and other explosive remnants of war.

The assistance was provided within the framework of the project “Complex humanitarian mine action to support early recovery in Ukraine 2023-2026.

“Thanks to such support, we are able to increase the technical capabilities of our specialists, promptly respond to challenges and ensure safety in demined territories”, said Colonel Ruslan Beregulya, head of the Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety.

During the meeting, Colonel Ruslan Beregulya discussed further areas of cooperation with representatives of the DRC. In particular, it is planned to hold training courses for specialists of the Ministry of Defense on quality control of demining in accordance with the requirements of international and national standards. The program will include practical classes on the use of unmanned aerial systems and artificial intelligence technologies.

The parties confirmed their intention to continue cooperation in joint projects aimed at developing national potential in the field of mine action.
