The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine launched “Hungarian Radio” with a universal response to anti-Ukrainian statements by Hungarian officials
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine launched a “radio” with a universal response to anti-Ukrainian statements by senior Hungarian officials, calling this format “Hungarian Radio of Ukraine.” Link to the “always relevant commentary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” regarding the Hungarian statements published the ministry’s spokesman Georgy Tykhy.
He shared a link to an audio recording called “Hungarian Radio of Ukraine” and explained that this is a universal reaction of official Kyiv to anti-Ukrainian statements that continue to be heard from Budapest.
“Hungarian officials make absurd statements about Ukraine every day. We are tired of responding to each of them, so we decided to publish our position online in the format of a radio stream that is available 24/7”, ‒ Tykhy noted.
“We reject the manipulations regarding Ukraine that Prime Minister Orban and his team regularly allow themselves. We condemn his consistent attempts to drag Ukraine into his domestic politics or election campaign.
Ukraine has never wished and does not wish evil to neighboring Hungary. We ask all Hungarians not to trust the toxic anti-Ukrainian propaganda that comes from the mouths of Hungarian officials. We are destined to be good neighbors, members of the EU and NATO, and not the “Russian world”. Thank you for listening to Hungarian Radio of Ukraine”, ‒ the recorded commentary says.
A message with the same content also sounds in English and Hungarian.
In 10 days, parliamentary elections are to be held in Hungary, after which the ruling Fidesz party of Prime Minister Viktor Orban may lose power.
One of the polls published last week showed a 23 percentage point lead for Tisza over Fidesz among voters who had already made up their minds. At the same time, a think tank close to the government published a forecast predicting a significant advantage for candidates from Orban’s party in majoritarian districts.
