The National Police does not keep separate statistics on the beating of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The National Police of Ukraine does not keep separate statistics on attacks on servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such cases are mainly classified as hooliganism or bodily harm and have the greatest public resonance. About this reported spokeswoman of the National Police, Olena Berezhna, on Radio Svoboda.
“As for attacks on military personnel, we cannot separately say the number of these cases, because they are classified by the Criminal Code as either causing bodily harm or as hooliganism. Cases of beatings of military personnel are the most resonant. Society reacts, and it cannot be said that it is bad … The reaction of the public to such blatant and shameful cases is positive,” – said the spokeswoman.
In addition, according to the spokeswoman, the police are also investigating cases of setting fire to servicemen’s cars. Since the beginning of the year, more than 200 such cases have been recorded, and, according to Berezhnaya, they are mostly related to the activities of Russian agents.
“As for the arson of military vehicles, more than 200 such cases have been committed since the beginning of the year. And they are committed exclusively on the order of agents of the Russian Federation. That is, they are looking for such people who, on their order and for the purpose of conducting information and psychological operations in Russia, hire teenagers or people , who are looking for work and easy earnings, easy money, and burn military cars”, the policewoman said.
A member of the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, People’s Deputy Solomiya Bobrovska from the “Voice” party, believes that to prevent such cases, systemic changes are needed, including reforms in the field of education, or redistribution of resources in law enforcement agencies. She also criticized the activities of the police, in particular, mentioned cases of operational purchases of content on the OnlyFans service.
“Regarding fuses, unfortunately, I have no answer, except for systemic, global changes, how children should be dealt with. The school of national-patriotic education, overcrowding, these are global things, to which Ukraine today, unfortunately, is not ready to apply such measures Here the question will be, first of all, to the Security Service of Ukraine, to their colleagues and their work public cases from the National Police. Therefore, banning Telegram or TikTok is far from an option, it will all work.”, – said Solomiya Bobrovska.
It should be noted that during this week in Ukraine it became known about several cases of beatings of servicemen.
