The Polish publication fired the Ukrainian journalist who called Karol Navrotskyi a “pagan”
Ukrainian journalist Vitaly Mazurenko resigned from the post of deputy editor-in-chief of the Polish publication Obserwator Międzynarodowy. This happened after the journalist called the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, a “pagan”. This is mentioned in the statement of the editors of the publication.
Mazurenko, commenting on President Navrotskyi’s decision to veto the law on Ukrainians, said:
“The rhetoric and behavior of Mr. Navrotskyi is not the behavior of the president, but the behavior of a pahan. This is what they call a criminal leader in Russian prisons.
The editors emphasized that they categorically do not accept such actions, which undermine the authority of the President of Poland.
“We inform you that a decision has been made to immediately terminate cooperation with Mr. Vitaly Mazurenko. This person also loses the function of deputy editor-in-chief in our editorial office. At the same time, we assure our readers, viewers and partners that such behavior will not be tolerated in any way in the future, says the statement of Obserwator Międzynarodowy.
At the same time, the head of the Office of the President of Poland Zbigniew Bogutski declared, that Mazurenko should be prosecuted for publicly insulting the President of the Republic of Poland. He also emphasized that this situation should become an impetus for discussing the issue of introducing into Polish legislation provisions that would allow the deprivation of citizenship acquired through naturalization.
Let us remind you that on August 25, the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, said that assistance within the program “800+” only those Ukrainians working in Poland should receive. It is for this reason that he refused to sign the amendment to the law on support for citizens of Ukraine.
On the same day, Navrotskyi announced a new legislative initiative, which provides for the inclusion in the Criminal Code of a provision on equating the “symbol of Bandera” to Nazi and communist symbols.
