Nordic and Baltic countries allocate additional $500 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine

On November 13, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and Estonia announced funding for an additional joint package of weapons for Ukraine, which will be purchased from the United States. About this reportedin the NATO press service.

The countries announced the allocation of $500 million for the purchase of military equipment and ammunition for Ukraine, which will be supplied through the United States as part of NATO’s “Priority Ukraine Requirements List” (PURL) initiative.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed the announcement:

“Our northern and Baltic Allies are increasing funding for the next package of critical military equipment for Ukraine. This equipment is critically important as Ukraine enters the winter months and PURL supplies are arriving in Ukraine. NATO Allies will continue to provide Ukraine with the equipment and supplies it needs.”

As a reminder, the PURL program was launched by US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in July 2025. It envisages the purchase of American weapons by NATO allies for Ukraine. Currently, the total amount of contributions from NATO countries to the PURL initiative has already exceeded $2.8 billion.
