The President of Ukraine approved the law on the possibility of re-entering the service after the SZCH
Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a law that allows servicemen who have left military units without permission or deserted for the first time to voluntarily return to duty.
According to the law, during martial law, military personnel who voluntarily left their place of service can return, provided that they voluntarily return to their unit and express their willingness to continue their service. In this case, their contract is extended and all benefits, including cash, food and physical supplies, benefits and social security are restored.
The resolution stipulates that an investigation under Articles 407 and 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (regarding voluntary desertion or desertion) cannot be grounds for refusing reinstatement or contract extension.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada generally supported the draft law on voluntary return to service for those who voluntarily left military units or deserted for the first time.
