The last power line from the Ukrainian power system was disconnected at the ZNPP

The tenth blackout since the beginning of the occupation was recorded at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAES). Today, the last power transmission line, through which the station received power from the Ukrainian power system, was de-energized. This was reported in the press service of NAEK “Energoatom”.

The company noted that due to a complete blackout, the ZNPP switched to powering its own needs from diesel generators.

“This is a serious violation of the conditions of normal operation of the station and threatens the development of an accident. The presence of the ZNPP under illegitimate management poses a threat to the nuclear and radiation safety of Europe’s largest nuclear facility. Their irresponsible actions can have catastrophic consequences for the whole world, it says.

We would like to remind you that at the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a resolution was adopted calling on Russia to immediately de-occupy the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The document entitled “Nuclear safety, physical nuclear safety and guarantees in Ukraine” supported by 62 member states.

“We are grateful to every country that supported this important document. 62 votes “for” – this is a clear position of the civilized world: nuclear terrorism is unacceptable, and the Zaporizhzhya NPP occupied by Russia must be immediately returned to the control of Ukraine. We will continue to work with the IAEA and our partners to ensure the implementation of every point of this decision, said the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk.
