The Russian army massively attacked Sumy: part of the city was left without electricity and water

On the night of August 27, the Russian army massively attacked Sumy: a series of explosions rang out, as a result of which infrastructure facilities were damaged. Electricity and water supply have partially disappeared in the city. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleg Grigorov.

“The enemy launched a massive drone attack on the outskirts of the Sumy community. In advance, without victims. There is damage to infrastructure facilities, emergency services are working, says the message.

Around 01:00 on August 27, approximately ten explosions were recorded in the city. Later, at least three explosions rang out in Okhtyrka. As noted Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar, residential quarters were not affected.

Due to the partial lack of electricity in Sumy, public transport is limited – only buses operate on the routes. As a result of the attack, all water supply facilities were de-energized and switched to emergency backup power. On August 27, water will be supplied according to the schedule and with reduced pressure: from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

“Due to the blackout of the pumping pumps, there will be no water supply to the upper floors of high-rise buildings. The water supply will resume as usual after the stabilization of the energy supply”,explained in the KP “Miskwodokanal”.
