The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has approved the rules for laboratory research of milk and dairy products, which are sold in agro-food markets. The ministry noted that the new rules of laboratory research are aimed at improving the control over the circulation of milk and dairy products in the agro-food markets of Ukraine. The document provides clear requirements for the selection of samples of raw milk and dairy products, and also establishes benchmarks for their quality and safety. In addition, the periodicity of checking these indicators is determined.
The document also regulates laboratory testing of raw milk and dairy products produced outside of industrial production conditions, which are supplied to the market by operators, including small-scale producers, and sold directly to the final consumer through agro-food markets.
According to the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy No. 4150 dated November 25, 2024, the new rules will enter into force on April 29, 2025.
